❤️ Involve Family in the Process

❤️ Involve Family in the Process

Always involve your parents or guardians in marriage discussions. This not only protects you but also ensures a transparent and culturally respectful process. Family involvement is crucial for:

  • Ensuring shared values and expectations
  • Having witnesses to important conversations
  • Getting trusted advice from experienced people
  • Maintaining traditions and cultural protocols

🔐 Online Safety

🔐 Online Safety

🚫 Never Send Money or Share Financial Information

Do not send money to anyone you meet through the platform, no matter the reason. Matrimonial fraud often begins with emotional stories and financial requests. Always report such behavior immediately.

  • Never wire money to strangers
  • Be cautious of emergency fund requests
  • Avoid investment or loan offers
  • Don't pay for visa processing or immigration fees

🔒 Protect Your Personal Information

Avoid sharing sensitive details such as your home or work address, routine schedules, or financial information. Keep early communication limited to general topics until you build trust.

  • Don't share home address until you meet in person
  • Protect your work location and schedule
  • Be vague about property or vehicle ownership
  • Never share Aadhar, PAN, or bank details

💬 Stay on the Platform

Keep your conversations within Corishta during the initial stages. This helps us monitor suspicious behavior and protect you from potential misuse. Only move to personal contact (WhatsApp, phone) when:

  • You've built sufficient trust (minimum 2-3 weeks of communication)
  • Family members have been involved
  • You've had video calls and verified identity
  • Both parties agree it's safe to proceed

🛑 Be Cautious of Long-Distance or Unverified Profiles

If someone avoids video calls, refuses to meet in person, or keeps giving excuses—consider it a red flag. Matrimonial conversations must be genuine and transparent.

  • Request video call within first week
  • Look for consistent details across messages
  • Be wary of stories about visa issues or distance constraints
  • Meet in person before committing emotionally

⚠️ Report Suspicious or Inappropriate Behavior

⚠️ Report Suspicious or Inappropriate Behavior

Block and report any user who:

  • Asks for money or donations
  • Harasses or uses offensive language
  • Provides fake information
  • Sends spam or unsolicited content
  • Behaves inappropriately during or after a meeting
  • Makes threats or pressures you emotionally
  • Requests explicit images or videos

You can report directly from any profile or message screen. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours by our moderation team.

🧾 Account Security

  • Use a strong password (mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols)
  • Don't share login details with anyone, even family
  • Always log out when using a shared or public device
  • Corishta will never ask for your password via email or chat
  • Enable two-factor authentication if available
  • Change password regularly and keep it unique

🤝 Meeting in Person

🕒 Take Your Time

Marriage is a lifelong decision—take time to know the person. Schedule video calls before meeting and involve your family early. There's no rush:

  • Video call minimum 2-3 times before meeting
  • Discuss important life goals and expectations
  • Involve family at least 1-2 weeks before meeting
  • Never feel pressured to meet quickly

📍 Meet in Public, Not Private

Meet for the first few times in safe, public places. Avoid private or isolated locations, and don't allow anyone to pressure you otherwise.

  • Choose well-known cafes, restaurants, or public parks
  • Avoid meeting alone at home or hotel rooms
  • Prefer daytime meetings (before sunset)
  • Choose places where others are around

📞 Inform Family or Friends

Let someone close to you know when, where, and with whom you are meeting. Keep your phone fully charged and with you.

  • Send family the meeting location and time
  • Share the person's photo and basic details
  • Text family when you arrive and leave
  • Have a friend on standby to call

🚗 Plan Your Transportation

Use your own transportation so you can leave anytime. Have a backup option (like a taxi app or a trusted contact).

  • Drive your own vehicle or take a cab
  • Don't depend on the other person for rides
  • Have Uber/Ola app ready on your phone
  • Know how to get home independently

🚫 Avoid Unattended Items or Drinks

Keep your personal belongings and drink in your sight at all times to avoid any misuse or tampering.

  • Don't leave your phone or bag unattended
  • Watch your drink being prepared
  • Never accept open drinks from the other person
  • Keep your valuables secure

❌ If You Feel Uncomfortable, Leave

You are under no obligation to continue a meeting. If you feel uneasy or unsafe, end the meeting immediately. Trust your instincts.

  • Don't feel obligated to stay if uncomfortable
  • Leave if behavior becomes inappropriate
  • Call a trusted friend for support
  • Report concerning behavior after leaving
