Role Overview
As Senior PHP Developer you will own substantial parts of the backend that runs Corishta. You will work on the profile, matching, payment and application services, design the APIs that the web and mobile clients consume, and take responsibility for the quality and security of the code you ship. You will also mentor the junior developers on the team and review the work of other engineers.
Salary
This is a full-time salaried position. Salary for this role is confirmed individually during the hiring process and is based on experience; no fixed figure is advertised at this stage.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain PHP backend services that support profiles, matching, payments and applications
- Design and build REST APIs consumed by the website and the mobile applications
- Write efficient MySQL queries and keep the database healthy as the data volume grows
- Review code from other engineers and enforce the team’s standards for structure, security and testing
- Diagnose and fix production defects, and take part in the on-call rotation
- Work with the verification and customer care teams to deliver the operational features they need
- Improve performance, error handling and observability in the services you own
- Mentor junior developers through code review and pairing

Candidate Profile
- Five or more years of professional PHP development experience
- Strong command of MySQL, including query tuning and schema design
- Practical experience with REST API design and with a PHP framework
- Solid understanding of web security, including input validation, authentication and file upload handling
- Able to work from a codebase and improve it without being asked to rewrite it
- Experience with the native Android and iOS applications alongside the web platform
- Experience with payment gateway integrations
- Exposure to AWS or a comparable cloud environment
