Frontend Developer

Role Overview

As Frontend Developer you own the way Corishta looks and feels on screen. You will build responsive interfaces with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap, make sure every screen works on the low-end Android phones that many members use, and work with the backend team to turn designs into working pages. Attention to detail and care about the small interactions matter more here than cleverness.

Salary

This is a full-time salaried position. Salary for this role is confirmed individually during the hiring process and is based on experience; no fixed figure is advertised at this stage.

Responsibilities

• Build responsive, mobile-first interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap
• Implement pages from design mockups with close attention to spacing and detail
• Optimise for low-bandwidth and low-spec devices, which is a large part of our audience
• Write clean, maintainable front-end code that survives handover
• Ensure the interface meets accessibility and semantic markup standards
• Work with backend developers to define and consume APIs
• Fix cross-browser and device-specific issues reported by the field teams

Preferred Skills

Candidate Profile

• Two or more years building production front-end code
• Strong HTML and CSS, including responsive layout and media queries
• Solid JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and asynchronous requests
• Practical experience with Bootstrap or a comparable component framework
• An eye for visual detail and a willingness to iterate
• Experience with React or another modern front-end framework
• Familiarity with the native Android and iOS applications
• Basic understanding of PHP and MySQL
