Finance Manager

Role Overview

As Finance Manager you lead the accounting and financial reporting function. You will own the close, the management reporting, the budgets and the internal controls, and you will provide the numbers the leadership team makes decisions on. You will also work with the founders on financial planning.

Salary

This is a full-time salaried position. Salary for this role is confirmed individually during the hiring process and is based on experience; no fixed figure is advertised at this stage.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and the management reporting cycle
• Prepare and own the budget, and track actuals against it
• Maintain and improve the internal financial controls
• Manage the statutory compliance calendar and the audits
• Provide financial analysis to the leadership team when decisions need it
• Supervise the accounting team and the Accountant
• Support the district expansion plan with the financial modelling it needs

Preferred Skills

Candidate Profile

• Six or more years in accounting or finance, with at least three years leading the function
• Strong practical knowledge of Indian accounting, tax and compliance
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
• Ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
• Hands-on working knowledge of accounting software and spreadsheets
• Experience in a multi-state or distributed organisation
• Exposure to commission or partner payout models
• Experience supporting a startup through growth
