Data Protection Coordinator

Role Overview

As Data Protection Coordinator you oversee how Corishta handles the personal information of families. You will coordinate the privacy processes, maintain the data-handling procedures, make sure the team understands them, and handle the reporting that follows any data incident. In a matrimonial service, this work protects people at their most personal.

Salary

This is a full-time salaried position. Salary for this role is confirmed individually during the hiring process and is based on experience; no fixed figure is advertised at this stage.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the privacy processes across the platform and the field operations
• Maintain and update the data-handling procedures and the data inventory
• Support the engineering team with privacy requirements in the design of new features
• Coordinate the handling of data access requests from members
• Run the incident reporting process, including notifying the leadership team
• Train the teams that handle member data on what they must do
• Keep the record of what personal data is held and why

Preferred Skills

Candidate Profile

• Three or more years in data protection, privacy operations or a related governance role
• Practical knowledge of Indian data protection principles and of how they apply in practice
• Strong written English and working Hindi
• Organised, discreet and comfortable challenging practices that put data at risk
• A genuine concern for how families’ information is handled
• Experience in an internet or consumer platform
• Familiarity with the Digital Personal Data Protection framework in India
• Experience with security incident response
