Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Role Overview

As Chief Operating Officer you hold overall responsibility for how Corishta runs day to day. You turn the company strategy into an operating plan, coordinate every department so that their work reinforces one another, and carry the accountability for business performance across the states we operate in. You will spend most of your time with state heads and district managers, removing blockers rather than adding processes, and you will report directly to the founders.

Salary

This is a senior leadership position with a fixed annual salary. The published range is a market-referenced band for the role and is confirmed individually during the hiring process, together with performance-linked components, before any offer is made.

Fixed component: ₹36,00,000 – ₹60,00,000 per annum

Responsibilities

• Own the company-wide operating plan and translate founder priorities into department-level deliverables with clear owners and dates
• Direct and coach state heads and district managers, holding them to agreed operating standards and reporting rhythms
• Carry overall accountability for business performance, and report honestly on numbers rather than on activity
• Identify and remove the operational bottlenecks that slow state and district teams down
• Standardise the processes used across states so that a good outcome in one state can be replicated in another
• Guide national expansion by assessing which districts are ready to open and which are not
• Review the departmental plans of technology, marketing, customer care and human resources for consistency
• Build a management information view that shows where the business is healthy and where it needs attention
• Set the operating cadence of the leadership team and keep decisions documented
• Protect the trust and safety standards that the matrimonial business depends on

Preferred Skills

Candidate Profile

• Ten or more years of operational leadership, including running multi-site or multi-state operations
• Experience managing distributed teams of managers who themselves lead teams
• Demonstrable ownership of a business or operational P&L, including the numbers behind it
• A structured approach to setting standards across locations and measuring compliance
• Comfort with reporting bad news early and acting on it
• Willingness to travel to state and district coordination hubs
• Direct experience in a consumer subscription or services business in India
• Experience scaling a business from a handful of cities to multi-state coverage
• Familiarity with franchise, distributor or field-network operating models
