Android App Developer

Role Overview

As Android App Developer you own the Android application that members use on a daily basis. You will build features in Kotlin, keep the app stable across the wide range of Android devices and versions our members carry, and work with the backend team so that the app stays fast on ordinary connections. You will also handle crash reporting and make sure a release is safe to push.

Salary

This is a full-time salaried position. Salary for this role is confirmed individually during the hiring process and is based on experience; no fixed figure is advertised at this stage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features of the Corishta Android application in Kotlin
• Work with the backend team to define and consume the APIs the app uses
• Optimise the app for low-end devices and slow networks
• Investigate and fix crashes, ANRs and performance problems reported by users
• Set up and maintain crash reporting and release monitoring
• Prepare and publish releases to the Play Store, including release notes
• Work with the design team to deliver interfaces that match the app standards

Preferred Skills

Candidate Profile

• Three or more years of Android development experience
• Strong Kotlin and Java skills
• Practical knowledge of the Android SDK, Jetpack and modern app architecture
• Experience with REST APIs, local storage and offline handling
• Care about stability and about the experience of users on older devices
• Experience with authentication, OTP and push notification flows
• Exposure to in-app update and deep linking
• Familiarity with the iOS application for a shared API contract
